Welcome to Monday Affirmations with Mama Kat!
This weekly tradition began with our Kismet team and ended up being part of our Patreon when that launched. With the closing of Patreon and our transition to the website, I wanted to continue that tradition but open it up to all of our fantastic, bookish community!
Each Monday I will draw an affirmation card from a deck and share here with some thoughts. Hop into the comments, if you'd like, to share your own thoughts and how you'd like to work on this affirmation this week.
This morning, our affirmation focuses on clarity. I don't know about you, but I run with 1,000 thoughts per minute going through my head. Having mental clarity can be difficult. This is a good reminder that sometimes we need to stop, breathe, and toss that chatter into the trash. Decern what thoughts are serving you well and identify the ones causing you distress.
Stop the self-deprecating. Yes, I am speaking to myself here too. Acknowledge those negative thoughts. Feel what you need to feel, then move on. Recycle those into affirmations of what you can do better; and how you can be better. Turn those thoughts into actions. Then turn those actions into positive habits that serve you well!
It isn't easy. It takes time, work, and a conscious effort to change. This week, let's take it one step at a time, starting with clearing your mind, grounding yourself, and reminding yourself that just because your mind tells you something, doesn't mean it is true. Sometimes, you just need to tell it to shut up.
Have an amazing week Nerds!

Thanks Amy. I needed this today....and everyday. I have always felt that I've never been good enough. Good enough for my boyfriend, good enough for my husband, good enough mom, good enough as a friend. It's never ending. I'm working on pushing these thoughts away and just be me. And that's good enough!
